The 1st spiral course is the beginning level of mandhira yoga.  The emphasis is on the learning of skillful basic core techniques in the optimal progression, and on the spiritual philosophy of mandhira yoga.

The 1st spiral involves study and practice of true ha-tha and raja yoga, the eightfold mandhira yoga energy flow including mandhira inversion, the chakra system, active meditation techniques, and the five core issues of life and ways to deal with them.


 
   

PREREQUISITE
Previous participation in a
mandhira yoga Introductory Workshop is required before you begin the 1st spiral.  Also, some hatha yoga experience is recommended.  Even experienced yoga teachers and chi kung teachers from other traditions will benefit from the 1st spiral course.

Please wear comfortable yoga clothes - in which you can do upside-down postures (like a headstand or handstand) - and bring a mat and note-taking supplies.   You'll receive more information after you register.

  Ten two-hour class sessions...  
 
1. Loosen
 
 
Techniques to loosen your joints, muscles, spine, tensions, breathing, emotions, attitudes, etc.  Stretching, warm-ups, yoga postures, breathing techniques, whirling, qigong energy techniques, etc.
2. Activate
 
 
Techniques to activate your energy, beginning with the core and with breath.  Surya Namaskara, khapalabhati, stomach-pumping, qigong, yoga postures and mudras for activation of first three chakras in order.
3. Invert
 
 
 
Learn the incredible power and benefits of turning your body, your attitudes, and your inner energies upside down.  Mandhira yoga inversion techniques, maha bandha, activation of the higher chakras in order.
4. Balance
 
 
Balance your body, breath, and emotions.  Naturally open both nostrils, engage and activate both brain hemispheres simultaneously.  Balancing postures, alternate nostril breathing, OM mantra, more.
5. Focus
 
Turn your energies inward, collect and focus them.  Inner smile, mandhira trataka, hong sau mantra, more.
6. Circulate
 
 
Take conscious control of your prana-chi, use the mandhira microcosmic orbit with nada yoga sound frequencies, bija mantras, visualization.
7. Uplift & Free
 
 
Raise your energy to the heart and higher centers and beyond.  Free it and allow your soul to rise.  Relax.  Music, mudras, concentration and meditation practices, inspirational scripture reading, more.
8. Store
 
Bring your energy back to your core, store it with chi kung and chi self massage.
9. Karma
 
Examine the five core issues of life and mandhira's five approaches to face them and evolve your desires.
10. Sadhana
 
Putting it all together - practicing the mandhira yoga energy spiral process.
